To optimize scrolling through the newsfeed, Facebook is working on revising the structure of the feed for its main application. The social media giant is currently testing a new version of its current news feed with tabs.
This edition is of various options. The current algorithm, which displays the posts. That he believes the person likes best, is provided with new tabs, namely “Latest” and “Already seen”.
The “Latest” tab sorts the posts in reverse chronological order, and the “Already seen” tab sorts the posts that users have already seen. The existing latest feed of the reverse chronological post was previously cover as a bookmark in the sidebar. And the feed of posts already seen is also available in the current Facebook desktop version.
This tabbed feed is only available internally. However, when it starts up, the social media platform becomes much more dynamic as users can see what is happening in real-time. In this way, users can also find lost posts.
After 2013, this tabbed newsfeed will be the biggest change in the main Facebook application feed interface. This prototype is still under lock and key but was found by a famous reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong. Previously, she also whistled changes to Instagram’s news feed.
According to the spokesman for Facebook, the function is still a prototype and is available internally. However, the company is still considering external testing. Therefore, we cannot say with certainty whether and when the design change will be introduced.
