Apple may be launching new over-ear headphones soon, according to placeholder lists that have been reported to be published in Target’s product database. Offers revealed by YouTuber Jon Prosser show an item called “Apple AirPods (X Generation)” with a cost of $ 399. Prosser noticed that there are three SKUs recorded for the item, proposing that it could be accessible in three unique hues.

There have been numerous reports in recent years that the company is working on Apple-branded over-ear headphones. In early 2018, Apple analysts Ming-Chi Kuo and Bloomberg reported that the headphones should appear before the end of 2018. In June, however, Bloomberg report that they delayed due to “development challenges”. Kuo most recently predicted last month that Apple will launch high-end Bluetooth headphones in the first half of 2020.

Such placeholder lists are fairly common, according to AppleInsider sources at Target, and usually indicate that products ship within a month, or sometimes even a week. Although placeholder names are generally incorrect, their sources indicate that placeholder prices are usually correct. A price of $ 399 would make the over-ear headphones $ 150 more expensive than the in-ear AirPods Pro, but it’s the same price as our two current top picks for the best wireless over-ear – Headphones: the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700 and Sennheiser Momentum Wireless.

Over-Ear Headphones

The release of over-ear headphones would not be a technical premiere for Apple. As the company has been selling over-the-ear headphones under the Beats brand for some time. The wireless on-ear Beats Studio 3, for example, is currently available for $ 350. However, they would be the first under the Apple brand.

These headphones aren’t the only new products we saw from Apple in the first half of this year. Last month’s Kuo report claimed that we would also see the company’s rumored tag trackers. (although Kuo recently revised this to Q3). A new cheaper 4.7-inch LCD iPhone, a new wireless Charger and updates for his iPad Pro. MacBook Pro and MacBook Air devices. An Apple event was reputedly to be in March before the outbreak of the corona virus. Which weighed on manufacturing and assembly efforts.
